Do you one to know something interesting and new? Some amazing stuff on marketing that would give you an edge over others standing in the crowd? Do you know about the CATT funnel or about MassTrust? Do you wanna know about a blueprint to help you build your personal brand!

Dive into this article to know more of it:) its going to be fun!

The Fundamentals of “Marketing”

What is your idea of marketing? Is it just the advertisement that you saw today on the tv, is it the call you received to ask you about buying a specific course or is it the poster, billboards around the city you roam in?

From explaining about your accomplishments (personal branding) to seeing someone else’s posters on the wall. Everything comes under the term “ Marketing”. It starts even before the introduction of the product, with researching about consumers (who will buy what you offer) taste and preferences that gives marketing its actual value.

Until you know what they need and the why , how will you work on it and aware them?

Marketing makes selling goods and services easy. It helps one to build its own brand and capture a position. It is needed to maintain a connection with the previous customers and to retain more. Without it one may not know what exists , what is needed and the areas that should be focused. It seems complex but without it we cannot simplify our work too. Marketing is the process of getting the right goods or services or ideas to the right people at the right place, time, and price.

marketing is a social process where in people interact with others, in order to convince them to act in a particular way, say to “purchase”.

As we know that everything changes with time, hence this word marketing has gone through a lot of developments as time passed by. Let’s understand how we looked at it traditionally and what it concerns on today.

Digital marketing Vs Traditional Marketing

Traditional marketing — we can consider it as a boring form of marketing, the fruit seller you saw today (shouting to grab attention)or the announcements on the radio forms part of it. It still has its presence today. But as we turned our steps towards globalization, we wanted to reach more people. To gain wider audience, we needed visibility. That “visibility” was provided to us by this “ digital marketing (a modern form of marketing)”.

Suppose you have a sweet shop in Mumbai, you want to sell it to other states. How would you sell it to Amrita who has heard of your sweets but she currently stays in Delhi. She searched for you , but your shop was nowhere to be found over the web. That’s where digital marketing helps — by building an online presence. It not only makes it easier for us to keep a track of the audience but also understand who our potential consumers are.

Traditional marketing was initially focused at selling the products produced for PROFIT while modern marketing focuses more on the CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Traditional marketing (use of radio, newspapers etc.) focused on profit but modern concept of it focuses on fulfilling its customers need and wants. Traditionally everything was offline but now with globalization online presence (digital marketing , use of OTT platforms , social media etc.) has taken a major position.

There is a need for both the forms because both have their own pro’s and con’s. Traditional marketing caters to the need of a good share of population who still lack proper education and internet facility.

Marketing is like a communication medium between your target as well as potential customers and you. (For a baby soap, mother’s are the target customers or anyone searching for gift for a baby shower could be your potential customer).

We need to know , how to convey , whom to convey and the art to persuade the customers. Marketing would help to capture a place in the minds of the people. Knowing the art of communication is vital henceforth.

You cannot understand a person without talking or communicating to them for real, until you try how will you know whether it will work out or not.

Write daily ( as if you are talking to someone) and let the thoughts spill out. It gives us clarity which affects our speaking ability and one is able to communicate effectively.

Hence write, speak, talk and let the cycle continue.

CATT Marketing Funnel

About all that I have learnt till now, I found out about this marketing framework that fits well with the deeper concept of MARKETING.

Lets see what’s CATT is , and yes it is double t btw.

The CATT funnel where wealth=n^CATT funnel

here n is the niche one selects , because the success and revenue we earn depends directly on the Niche. Niche shall be such where you are number 1 in that category or if that category is taken be the best under a subcategory. Example- Best non fiction writer ( category) , Best self help book writer in India( sub category). One should be passionate for it , one shall have the talent and there should be demand for it in the market. That’s the right niche (all the three combined).

C refers to Content. If what you offer is of value , it would definitely be recognized. Your content says a lot. Create something useful like blogs, conduct webinars etc. Content is the king as it is rightly said. Those makeup videos, get ready with me reels , cooking tutorials etc , you watched on YouTube today comes under it. If one finds it relatable, one decides to watch it.

A is Attention- That's how by creating informative and valuable stuff you can drive attention to your content. Learning the art of SEO , advertising and use of social media to connect would help us to reach people. Eg- If Nisha liked the baking hacks video you posted today, she might also watch the next content you would offer.

T refers to Trust- If Nisha watches your next video and subscribes just because of the value you offered her , that shows that her “trust” is gained. Once you grab your clients, build trust among them , retarget them , keep their needs in mind and work on the feedbacks they offer.

T here is Transaction- This is the end to all the efforts you have invested.

A hypothetical example- If you have a cooking institute (content) , you provided a free demo class during winter vacations , advertised about it Aisha saw that somewhere(attention). She enquired, attended, found worth it and decides to join (trust). When she pays (transaction)for the course she would love to enroll. That’s the end of the whole effort you invested to convert your lead (Aisha) to your customer.

CATT FUNNEL

Integrated Digital Marketing (IDM)

It is the art of using all digital communication methods available altogether to spread a message.

Advertising at those spaces that your customer uses. Like-

  1. Email marketing-using emails to inform the customers and to stay connected with them.
  2. Paid advertising on Facebook , YouTube and Instagram.
  3. Advertising on blogs and websites- If you have searched on myntra for shoes, you will see myntra ads popping up on the websites or blogs you would visit later on.

It would help you to create an image in the minds of the customer, increase your brand awareness and remind them about the services you offer.

In the evening, a hungry young adult Mohit was surfing the internet suddenly finds out a Zomato ad showing momo’s, he decides to search Zomato and find something to order let’s say momos. How did it reach to him at the correct time (when he was hungry and it was snack time). That’s the power of Digital Marketing.

INTEGRATED DIGITAL MARKETING

Personal Branding

Personal mobile phone , personal diary….but what’s personal branding?

You are a brand here and the process of promoting yourself for the value you offer is PERSONAL BRANDING.

I feel that It’s no less than self marketing.

Suppose you are good at Public Speaking, you have trained students and slow steadily you gained experience, you build your position by visiting colleges , conducting workshops , creating valuable content and connecting to people worldwide to help them with their speaking ability. With your consistency, hardwork, honesty and experience you build you and became a BRAND. Now, when you advertise it to people to connect , to attract and to reach. That’s how you develop a PERSONAL BRAND.

MassTrust Blueprint

This helps us to build our PERSONAL BRAND

Suppose you want to guide people and be a mentor

What do you need first ? A skill! You need to firstly learn a skill, it could be anything like content writing, affiliate marketing, digital marketing etc.

Now when you are done learning from any reputed institute or some other platform of your choice. You need to gain experience right!?. Because until you get the practical experience , its difficult to build trust in people (As no one respects a newbie enough as compared to an expert).

After you gain experience in the field where you want to be a mentor and inspire people or start your own venture. You could begin by sharing your experiences and tricks that you learn. If you write it , publish , that would help the right people to reach you.

After you gain attention and trust of the people, those who respect your content and the value you offer. Start consulting them personally. talk to them , hear out their problems. That would not only help them , it would help you too. They would learn from your experience and you would build faith in them, widen your knowledge horizon too.

Slowly and steadily you can grow into a mentor as when you start getting recognized and reach your audience. One that needs you and find your learnings worthy.

When you have gained enough of experience, faith and good connection, now you can start your own agency or any venture that you wish to do.

You need to start by learning a skill (it could be anything) and eagerness to LEARN (learning never stops ). Because people get inspiration from a story they can relate to and they will relate when you are eager to help them learn and learn something from what they have to offer.

Hope it was helpful, do share your views! your valuable feedbacks, would be awaited:)
